Plants vs Zombies

This adorable game, brought to us by Pop Cap, is a really fun game and a brilliant way to waste time. If you have nothing to do for a couple of days, or you have about twenty minutes of gaming time a day (about the time it takes to complete a level) then this is the game for you.

Starting off

The game starts off slowly, teaching you the basics whilst at the same time still being relatively challenging. As time passes, your arsenal of plants increases, but so do the Zombies' strength and numbers. There are 5 main game modes and 50 levels in this game, as well as mini games etc.

If you've ever played Magic the Gathering, you might find the strategy very familiar. There are a similar amount of ways to play both games.

The zombies

Though they start as your run-of-the-mill zombies, different types begin to appear- meaning your new weapons become more useful. If you want to know all of the zombie types, go here.

Plants

To defeat this mass of zombies, the kind people at PopCap have given you an arsenal of plants which have been genetically modified in order for you not to die. Plants are both awarded to you and either improved or replaced at Dave's shop.

Mini-games

ZomBotony

This game has a heck of a lot of mini-games which are unlocked as you go up the levels. These include ZomBotony, where the zombies have plants for heads; WallNut bowling, where you throw wallnuts at the zombies (you are introduced to this in adventure mode); Slot Machine, where you use a slot machine to gain plants and acquire sun (200 sun wins the mini-game) and Last Stand, a hardcore mode where you start with 5000 sun and have to survive 5 waves of zombie with no free plants or sun producing plants.

Overall, I love the gameplay, graphics and music of this game. I think anyone with even the slightest interest in gaming should play it.
